Work Responsibilities of Civil Engineer

There are different Roles and Responsibilities of Civil Site Engineer, we will discuss each in detail here;

RESPONSIBILITY # 1

Interpretation of Drawing

RESPONSIBILITY # 2

Preparing of Bar Bending Schedule

Civil engineers use BBS to determine the cutting length and its number, as well as the diameter and weight of steel. They also use it to prepare bills of Quantities for work.

Supervision of Construction Work

It is important to monitor the construction site, especially since civil engineers have to check whether their drawings have been followed by construction workers.

Preparing Schedule of Material Used and Available

Civil Site Engineers are responsible for collecting, organizing and documenting any material that comes from a construction site. They must keep track of how much material has been used, how much is left and where it came from.

Plotting Line – Level on Const. Site

 It is also the responsibility of the civil engineer to see whether work is being done on the side according to guidelines. If friends do anything wrong, it can be costly to repair damaged concrete or construction. Checking line levels is important for this reason.

A work chart schedule is important to create at any construction site. It allows you to track the progress of your job, as well as see if you have reached your goal.

Checking Steel Work of Slab, Beam, & Column Before Concreting

The civil engineer is responsible for ensuring that the steel structures being constructed are in accordance with specifications. This could include checking the diameter of bar used in a slab or beam, as well as the number of bars used and spacing between them.

Checking & Arranging Equipment Before Concreting

Before starting any concreting, it is important to prepare all the things in advance. Check whether the machine-like vibrator used in the concreting is available on the site and if it goes off then make sure you have a backup one for continuous work.

Supervision Of The Curing Process

After the concrete work is completed, it is important to cure the concrete. If not properly cured, then cracks can develop later on in the structure..
